Camp Prime Time
A fire pit, built by concrete contractors from across the country.
Camp Prime Time, a Yakima based nonprofit, needed a new fire pit. The original was 35 years old and in disrepair, and there was no way the camp could afford to build a new one. In the late summer of 2019, Mike Poppoff spearheaded a team of his fellow members of the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) from across the country to fund and build it.
Mike worked closely with the camp staff and Board of Directors to design the structure, meet US Forest Service guidelines, and ensure it would be durable. Local businesses donated funding and materials, and the entire project was completed with a net zero cost to the camp. The octagon is built of sand washed, colored concrete benches and slabs.
