Curbing and specialty work · 3D stringless curb
Concrete curbing and specialty work from a 3D stringless Power Curber, in-house survey and hand-built forms
Our precision curbing machine and in-house surveying capabilities produce clean, consistent results that fit into your project, from parking lot curb to colored stairs up a hillside.
Chapter 01
A stringless Power Curber, and crews who can still build the form
In 2022 Poppoff added a 3D stringless Power Curber so we could deliver a complete site package in concrete. Instead of stringlines staked along the whole run, the machine follows a digital model of the curb line, so the path comes from the drawings and the survey and not from how straight a string stayed overnight.
The machine is not the whole answer. Between our Power Curber and skilled crews who can build curbing forms by hand, we can design and build curbs for any application, from standard curb for parking lots and roadways to decorative curb for landscaping and site design. Tight radii, odd transitions and short returns still go to a carpenter with a form.

Survey first, then extrude
Stringless work stands on survey. Our 5 total stations, added in 2025 as in-house site surveying and layout, set the control the machine reads. When the curb line, the paving falls and the inlets all come off one set of control points, the gutter drains where the civil drawings say it will.
One company shoots the grade, runs the curb and pours the paving beside it, so there is no hand-off in the middle of a gutter line to argue over when a fall comes out wrong.
Chapter 03
Curb by the thousand feet
WinCo Distribution in Ellensburg (2026) is the biggest curb run on our record: 18,000 LF of curbing alongside 200,000 SF of 10 inch concrete paving, in one complete sitework package. Project Nickle in La Grande, Oregon (2025) was 5,000 LF of curb, plus paving and sidewalk, for an 80,000 SF warehouse.
WWG2 in Yakima (2024) combined 3,500 LF of curb with 800 cubic yards of sidewalk and 60,000 SF of concrete paving. Poppoff also poured all the curb and sidewalk around the tilt-up building at Project Maverick in Moses Lake.
Decorative and specialty: the work outside the norm
Beyond curb, we take on decorative finishes, custom shapes, specialty slabs and hard-to-execute details. At Westwood Golf Course in Yakima (2025) that meant decorative colored sand wash patios and sidewalks, plus all the curb and gutter, for a new driving range, restaurant and cart storage facility.
The 1,000 Steps at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum (2013) is the extreme case: 18 flights of colored stairs from the river bed up 20 stories to the lodge, with 20 landings carrying stamped animal footprints. Each set of stairs was poured with a 61 meter pump working from the top or the bottom of the hill, and some pours needed 100 feet of slick line added to reach the point of placement.
In 2019 we teamed with the American Association of Concrete Contractors and the Decorative Concrete Council to donate a new fire pit to Camp Prime Time at White Pass: an octagon with sand washed colored concrete benches and slabs, at no cost to the camp.
